The process behind a few of my latest digitally illustrated pieces.
Woodland Dragon
For this piece I was focusing on composition and Atmosphere. I started the background and dragon in Rebelle for the watercolour effect and base to work into, all the details and outlines I worked on in Firealpaca.
I have included reference pictures from my pureref.
Clouds and Flowers
This piece was a study from an art reference photoshoot I worked on with a friend. I have included some of the reference photos with her permission.
I changed a number of details from the photo to fit my preferred composition.
Mermaid of Melancholy
This piece was entirely focused on trying out a new character drawing process with no references and trying to use lines of movement to create the character.
To get a realistic effect for the scales I incorporated photobashing which I painted over to keep the style cohesive.
