Game summary:
Concept, Promotional and Narrative art
POSTER CREDIT NOTE: The Cardyceps Logo, The Pink Mantis, Red mushroom and the middle little mushroom were drawn by my teammates as the game was a collaborative effort. I only edited them to fit cohesively in the poster.
Everything else on the poster is my work.

Cardyceps is a card game with a similar playing style to Slay the spire.
The concept of the game was a world where humans had overpopulated earth and needed more space for everyone to live, the logical course of action was of course to mix human and insect DNA to create a new tiny race in a huge world. However this new insect world came with problems of it's own, sentient, highly deadly fungi monsters who you the player would have to fight against.

Some unused Mushroom enemy characters I designed.
(Unsuitable due to art style being decided very late and
a huge number of artists in the team.)

I was given a task to draw up three cutscene images to explain the backstory of the game in the style of Thiago Lehmann:
1. Human scientists in a lab to show the process of the humans turning themselves into insects
2. An insect character exploring the new huge world surrounding them
3. A group of insect characters surrounded by the mushroom enemies. (This piece was reused as the poster.)

Animation:
CREDIT NOTE:
None of the character sprite art is my own, all of the modular parts given to me were drawn by my teammates.
We didn't have an animator in our team, but since we had 6 artists I decided to take on the animation role and I learnt how to use Dragonbones from scratch. These are some of the finished idle animations I created:

Dragonbones process screenshots, as well as a modularity guide I made for one of the artists for the green slime enemy.
Music:
The team had no musician so I volunteered to compose the music for the game.
I was told to compose 3 pieces that sounded like mushroom, jungle, fighting music that would loop. So I attempted to create something atmospheric that fit. The final piece was for the main menu so I was asked to compose something "chill".
